The Global Merchant Services Global Client Group (GCG) is responsible for a portfolio of our most significant global merchant relationships. This group is unique within American Express, partnering globally to develop and implement opportunities that deepen these strategic merchant partnerships. With a highly hardworking team spanning the globe, the GCG collaborates across the organization to drive initiatives that grow our merchant business.
As a Senior Manager in the Global Merchant Services-Global Client Group, you will manage day-to-day merchant relationships and support strategies to drive global growth in charge volume, revenue, and merchant engagement with some of our largest merchants in the retail industry. This role specifically manages key accounts including Walmart, Starbucks, and the U.S. relationships of Hermes and Chanel.
You will act as the General Manager and key representative of American Express, owning the P&L for your portfolio. Your work involves leading end-to-end global account management, from day-to-day operations and reporting to developing holistic account strategies that deepen American Express' profitability and relevance. You will partner with internal business partners across Pricing, Legal, Marketing, Finance, and Risk to negotiate contract renewals and drive optimization of contractual Marketing Funds. Additionally, you will identify and build a pipeline of charge volume growth opportunities, leveraging American Express assets to deliver against quantifiable scorecard goals while meeting merchant needs.
