The Global Acquiring Partners & Programs (GAPP) team within Merchant Services US is dedicated to the mission of making American Express "Welcomed Everywhere and Used Every Day." Through innovative programs like OptBlue, the business focuses on high-growth relationships in the merchant acquiring arena, transforming how American Express is accepted and welcomed across the network.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a fast-paced, dynamic team managing relationships with Third-Party Partner banks and sales channels. These relationships are significant, complex, and critical to achieving American Express's strategic objectives for merchant acceptance.
In this role, you will manage partner relationships by working across a broad set of areas and teams both within American Express and with our partners. You will lead tactical growth opportunities to unlock and implement initiatives, such as Debit, with partners across their sales and marketing organizations to drive American Express merchant coverage and spend on the network.
Your work will involve orchestrating program management, driving welcome acceptance, unlocking partner participation marketing initiatives, and facilitating new partner integrations. You will deepen senior-level relationships with partners to strategically position American Express and grow a robust sales pipeline across all partner sales channels. Additionally, you will accelerate growth and drive enterprise goals by negotiating and implementing initiatives with sales and marketing organizations.
Key areas of focus include strategy development to unlock card member spend, partner management to identify growth initiatives, and negotiation to expand American Express value-added products and services. You will collaborate with internal business teams, including Marketing, Analytics, Business Development, and Legal, to design initiatives that increase merchant activation and deliver incremental value to partners. You will also maintain deep knowledge of the payment services industry, debit, and U.S. market trends, representing American Express at industry forums and events to establish the company as an essential partner.
American Express is an equal opportunity employer and is committed to diversity in the workplace. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, gender, age, religion, disability, or veteran status.
