About Icarus
Icarus was founded on the belief that the Stratosphere is the Forgotten Frontier. We are dedicated to reclaiming this layer of the atmosphere to define the next era of aerospace. Our mission is to re-establish and maintain dominance in the Stratosphere by building solar-powered aircraft capable of flying at 60,000 feet for weeks at a time, delivering persistent, affordable, and scalable presence from the sky.
About the Role
This is not a normal engineering job. At Icarus, you will work side by side with the CEO and a small team of world-class builders, taking systems from concept to production with speed and ownership. You will design, build, break, fix, and validate subsystems in the desert, then fly them. The role demands full extreme ownership in a high-trust, no-BS environment where engineering, flight, and execution matter more than process or management overhead.
You will be a core executor of flight systems, driving rapid iteration loops across design, integration, testing, and flight. If you want real ownership, real hardware, and real flight milestones, this is it. We are looking for builders who thrive under pressure, learn fast, troubleshoot in the field, and push hardware to its limits. We move fast, often going to Mojave at 4 am, and expect an obsession with quality and speed.
