About the Team

For nearly 70 years, we have developed advanced nuclear propulsion technology, provided technical support, and trained world-class nuclear operators to ensure the safe and reliable operation of the nation's submarine and aircraft carrier Fleets.

Our nearly 8,000 engineers, scientists, technicians, and support personnel rely on dedication and innovation to maintain the safety and reliability of the nation's naval nuclear reactors. We operate across four DOE facilities, including the Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory, Knolls Atomic Power Laboratory, Kenneth A. Kesselring Site, and Naval Reactors Facility, as well as the Nuclear Power Training Unit-Charleston and various shipyard locations.

About the Role

The Prototype Electrical Engineering unit is seeking a highly motivated Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role is critical to ensuring the successful completion of planned maintenance shutdowns and providing the technical solutions necessary to restore the prototype to operation and resume its mission.

In this position, you will provide electrical field engineering support for instrumentation and control systems, medium and low voltage distribution systems, and various support systems. Beyond technical execution, you will serve as a recognized subject matter expert, offering leadership to engineering teams and mentoring both new and experienced engineers. You will drive process improvement, share lessons learned, and oversee projects to ensure they are technically sound, high-quality, and meet all program requirements. Success in this role requires the ability to interface with all stakeholders and management to align technical scopes, as well as the skill to deliver effective formal presentations to all levels of the organization.
