About the Role
As a Senior Professional Electrical Engineer, you will open a new door to an amazing career by leading the design of electrical systems from the initial planning stages through construction administration. This role is pivotal in building relationships with clients at the planning level to determine solutions and develop comprehensive electrical system plans.
You will lead the design team in developing contract documents for projects of significant scale and complexity. Beyond technical design, you will participate in new business development and marketing efforts, interviewing prospective clients to understand their needs and collaborating to define project scope and budgets. You will also serve as a subject matter expert, providing input on work priorities, conducting quality control reviews, and guiding department standards.
A key aspect of this position is mentorship. You will share your experiences, knowledge, and lessons learned to foster the growth of Electrical Designers and Engineers, reviewing their work and guiding their professional development. Your day-to-day will involve leading project teams, coordinating with other disciplines and construction partners, and conducting facility assessments and site visits to ensure code compliance and optimal system performance.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleDesign electrical systems, lighting layouts, and fire alarm systems to meet client needs and code requirements
- check_circleOversee all phases of construction documents including schematic design, bidding, and construction administration
- check_circleManage existing client relationships and participate in business development and marketing efforts
- check_circleConduct facility assessments, field assessments, and engineering studies to provide maintenance recommendations
- check_circlePerform as Project Manager on electrical-driven projects and coordinate efforts with other disciplines
- check_circleConduct quality control reviews and serve as a subject matter expert to resolve project issues
- check_circleLead project teams to create engineering solutions, design documents, and specifications for complex projects
- check_circleMentor team members by reviewing documents and guiding their professional growth and development
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's in electrical engineering from accredited program
- verifiedP.E./Professional Licensure required
- verifiedTen Years of professional experience in AEC industry preferred
- verifiedExperience mentoring, training, and overseeing projects as lead electrical engineer
- verifiedRevit software experience preferred
- verifiedProficient in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- verifiedKnowledge of power distribution and associated equipment
- verifiedKnowledge of lighting technologies and lighting control systems
- verifiedKnowledge of fire alarm requirements and building requirements
- verifiedKnowledge of drawing, scheduling, and coordinating design components in 3D drafting software
- verifiedKnowledge of codes and standards
Nice to Have
P.E./Professional Licensure in the State of Indiana or Kentucky. Ten years of professional experience in the AEC industry. Revit software experience.
