The Senior Director, Team Lead (TL) of U.S. Medical Affairs (USMA) for COPD (Respiratory) resides within the Value & Implementation (V&I) organization. This unit encompasses Global Medical and Scientific Affairs as well as Outcomes Research, serving as a critical hub for scientific engagement and insight generation.

This position is a key leadership role responsible for guiding, coaching, and developing Field Medical Affairs Professionals (FMAPs). You will ensure that all scientific and medical activities executed by the team align with USMA and enterprise priorities, reflecting our unwavering commitment to high-quality standards.
In this role, you will provide clear direction and vision to the USMA strategy, acting as a trusted partner to senior leaders to shape decisions and strategic planning. You will translate strategic objectives into actionable engagement plans, ensuring the team engages confidently in scientific exchange with fair balance and professionalism. As a data steward, you will use metrics and reporting tools to inform decision-making and demonstrate impact.
Your day-to-day involves fostering team cohesion, morale, and resilience through effective communication and accountability. You will empower team members to lead and take ownership, driving innovation across the organization. Additionally, you will manage the team budget, ensure adherence to compliance and medical governance, and navigate the evolving healthcare landscape with a focus on diversity, inclusion, and belonging.

Five years of experience in a field-facing role; previous experience managing field-based medical personnel; relevant therapeutic-area knowledge and/or knowledge of the U.S. health-care delivery system; previous management experience, especially with field-based medical professionals; strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite and ability to interface effectively with technical platforms including Generative Artificial Intelligence (Gen AI); scientific/medical research experience, including scientific/medical publications.
