Key Responsibilities
- check_circleManage construction projects for new builds and general capital initiatives
- check_circleInterface with general contractors during bidding, execution, and closeout phases
- check_circleConduct negotiations with contractors and evaluate bids and proposals
- check_circleConduct constructability reviews of electrical and mechanical designs
- check_circleRecord and report key construction metrics to team members and management
- check_circleDrive troubleshooting and root-cause failure analysis for equipment failures
- check_circleCreate construction project scopes and requests for proposals
- check_circlePerform financial analysis of construction costs and budgets
- check_circleManage construction documents including submittals, RFIs, and change orders
- check_circleEnsure construction project quality control and compliance
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent engineering science degree
- verified14+ years of relevant experience constructing and managing complex MEP systems
- verified10+ years of relevant experience managing general contractors and vendors
- verified10+ years of relevant experience constructing electrical engineering systems
- verified10+ years of relevant experience constructing mechanical engineering systems
- verified18 years of related construction management experience in lieu of a degree
- verifiedKnowledge of relevant building codes and regulations (e.g., Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA)
- verifiedProfessional Engineer (PE) certification

Nice to Have
Strong understanding of data center system-level architecture, including electrical (e.g., switch gear, UPS, transformers) and mechanical (cooling systems) engineering principles. Experience in designing and managing construction of complex data centers, critical infrastructure, or large-scale MEP plants. Proficiency in reading and interpreting construction specifications and drawings for all disciplines, and ability to create and maintain project documentation. Knowledge of relevant building codes and regulations (e.g., Life Safety, BOCA, NFPA, NEC, OSHA) and certifications such as Professional Engineer (PE), LEED, or Certified Construction Manager (CCM). Demonstrated ability to value engineer, finding innovative solutions to reduce costs and duration without compromising quality and reliability.
