About the Role
The Senior Accounting Manager serves as a key partner to finance, program management, contracts, supply chain, and operations teams. Reporting to HawkEye 360's Chief Accounting Officer, you will support ISA and corporate leadership with reporting, audits, indirect rate management, and operational finance execution. This position ensures operational execution aligns with US GAAP, FAR, and CAS requirements.
You will manage day-to-day accounting operations while leading the financial reporting and compliance landscape for a government contractor. The role demands a hands-on approach in a fast-paced, mid-market environment where you will champion continuous process improvements and automation to enhance the efficiency of the financial close and reporting. As a leader, you will supervise and develop a small team of accounting professionals, promoting accuracy, accountability, and a culture of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleManage day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable, payroll, and cash management
- check_circleLead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes to ensure accurate financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP
- check_circleEnsure compliance with FAR, CAS, DCAA, and DCMA requirements for government contracts
- check_circlePrepare incurred cost submissions and support DCAA/DCMA audit requests and interactions
- check_circleSupervise and develop a team of accounting professionals to promote accuracy and continuous improvement
- check_circleCollaborate with the Director of SOX Compliance to ensure internal controls are designed and operating effectively
- check_circleSupport indirect rate management and provide historical data for optimizing indirect rate structures
- check_circleServe as a subject matter expert to leverage ERP systems for automation and process improvements
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- verifiedActive CPA license preferred
- verified8+ years of progressive accounting experience
- verifiedExperience with EAC forecasting and revenue recognition (ASC 606)
- verifiedExperience with General ledger and month-end close
- verifiedExperience with Job cost accounting and project reporting
- verifiedExperience with Indirect rate structures and cost pools
- verifiedExperience with FAR Part 31 cost allowability principles
- verifiedExperience with Audit support and documentation preparation
- verifiedExperience working in a government contractor with $50M+ in annual revenue
- verifiedProficiency with ERP platforms
Nice to Have
Active CPA license. Experience with Deltek Costpoint. Big 4 or national public accounting firm experience auditing publicly traded companies. Experience working in defense, national security, government contracting, aerospace, or technology sectors. Background working in a multi-entity organization. Experience implementing or optimizing ERP systems, especially Deltek Costpoint.
