Freres Engineered Wood, formerly Freres Lumber Co., Inc., was established in 1922 in Lyons, Oregon. For over a century, three generations of family management have led our veneer and plywood manufacturing facilities in the Santiam Canyon, with a commitment to operating for another 100+ years.
We operate six processing plants, reinvesting in modern facilities to produce high-quality wood products ranging from raw logs to finished goods like specialty veneer, sheathing-grade plywood, and electricity. Our passion for continuous improvement and innovation has made us the sole producer of the patented Mass Ply Panel (MPP), revolutionizing the mass timber market.
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Accountant to join our team and help take the company to the next level. Reporting to the Accounting Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining financial integrity and driving process improvements within our manufacturing environment.
In this position, you will assist with the month-end closing process, manage fixed asset reconciliations, and oversee contract management including change order reviews and lien/bond notices. You will collaborate closely with internal departments, providing support on our ERP system to production managers, supervisors, and sales staff. This role also involves training and mentoring accounting staff to foster a strong, positive team environment, while serving as a backup for other accounting functions, including payroll.
This is a full-time, in-person role based at our Corporate Office with a schedule of 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday through Friday. The position requires the ability to navigate our various plant and department facilities. You will work in an office environment but must be prepared to handle exposure to loud operating machinery, varying temperatures (cold and hot), and vapors. The role involves a combination of sitting, standing, walking, and lifting as needed.
We are a family-owned business dedicated to providing family wage jobs within our communities. We value a growth mindset and thrive under pressure. If you are team-oriented, detail-focused, and eager to contribute to a legacy of innovation and quality, you are a great fit for our team.
