About the Role
The Senior Accountant serves as a key leader within our hospital's finance team, overseeing critical accounting functions with a specific focus on general ledger management and financial reporting. This role is essential for ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial data across multiple entities. You will play a pivotal part in strengthening internal controls, supporting audits and budgeting processes, and driving continuous process improvements.
Beyond technical execution, this position is deeply collaborative. You will mentor and develop junior team members, provide cross-coverage for other accounting roles, and work closely with leadership and cross-functional teams to navigate changing priorities. The day-to-day involves analyzing financial statements, reconciling accounts, and preparing flux analysis reports to inform both internal and external stakeholders.

This is a 40-hour per week position operating on a hybrid schedule. The role requires the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and organizational ability.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleMaintain thorough understanding of Meditech modules and Finance applications
- check_circlePerform detailed analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts
- check_circleEnsure revenue and expenses are recorded in the appropriate accounting period
- check_circleReview General Ledger compiled reports for accuracy prior to distribution
- check_circleInitiate process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and workflow
- check_circleContribute to the development and documentation of internal controls
- check_circleReview journal entries and work completed by Accounts Payable and Payroll staff
- check_circleMentor and develop junior staff through training and guidance
- check_circlePrepare flux analysis and period comparison reports for internal and external customers
- check_circleCoordinate financial responsibilities to ensure timely completion of audit schedules
- check_circleSupport internal and external audit processes to meet deadlines and documentation requirements
- check_circleReconcile General Ledger accounts and operating cash accounts periodically
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree (BS or BA) in Accounting
- verified3–4 years of hospital accounting experience
- verifiedStrong knowledge of general ledger, payroll and accounts payable functions
- verifiedExperience with Meditech accounting systems preferred
