This position serves as a pivotal link within the company's accounting function, blending skilled technical accounting with professional oversight. The role is designed to manage a diverse spectrum of financial operations, including investments, reinsurance, financial analysis, taxes, and account reconciliation. It requires a professional who can navigate both routine clerical tasks and complex technical accounting duties with precision.
You will operate with a high degree of autonomy, performing daily, weekly, and monthly account balancing and reconciliation while serving as a critical backup for senior accounting staff. A key aspect of this role involves acting as a liaison with reinsurers to investigate discrepancies and confirm missing information. Beyond individual contributions, you will assist in training and overseeing clerical staff, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of the department's workflow.
The role also entails close collaboration with the Vice President of Finance, the Controller, and the Treasurer. You will participate in planning and evaluating systems, policies, and procedures, while assisting with special projects such as testing automation applications and compiling data for specialized reports.
