As a Security Department Leader at Prairie Meadows, you will serve as the operational backbone for backside racing security. This role exists to ensure the safety, compliance, and efficiency of our barns, dormitories, and restricted areas while upholding the highest standards of integrity in a regulated environment.
You will act as the on-scene supervisor for critical incidents, ranging from loose horses and medical emergencies to fire hazards and rule violations. Your day involves navigating a dynamic environment where you must remain calm and decisive, coordinating closely with racing officials, stewards, veterinarians, and regulatory agencies to support safe racing operations.
Beyond incident response, you will lead a diverse team of security officers, managing their hiring, onboarding, scheduling, and performance. You will conduct routine inspections to ensure safe living and working conditions and enforce strict credentialing protocols for horsemen, vendors, and staff. This position requires frequent outdoor patrols in varying weather conditions and the physical ability to respond quickly to emergencies.
Candidates must be able to obtain and maintain applicable gaming licenses. The selection process includes a review of qualifications, interviews, and verification of the ability to work nights, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during racing season.
