Established in Grand Island, Nebraska, in 1887, CHI Health St. Francis has grown into a regional referral center. Today, more than 1,100 team members and over 100 physicians work together to build a healthier community. Our mission is to provide patients with high-quality medical care close to home, ensuring they remain supported by their family, friends, and local community.
As a Security Officer, you will serve as the first line of defense for our hospital, ensuring the safety and security of our employees, patients, and visitors. This role is vital to maintaining a secure environment where healing can take place without interruption.
Your day-to-day responsibilities involve actively monitoring the buildings and grounds through a combination of foot and vehicle patrols. You will guard facility and unit access points, monitor surveillance cameras, and test new security technologies. A key part of your mission is to protect everyone on campus against acts of violence should they arise. You will be expected to respond to emergency codes and calls for assistance in a timely and prudent manner, handling incidents ranging from unruly behavior to crimes in progress.
Success in this position requires the ability to remain calm under pressure, taking action based on the situation and known facts while understanding the limitations of the role. You will also be responsible for investigating security breaches, reporting HIPAA violations, and ensuring all activities and incident reports are logged accurately and submitted promptly.
Candidates with previous experience in security or patrol within a healthcare setting are preferred. Please ensure you meet the required qualifications, including a valid Nebraska driver's license and the ability to obtain Basic Life Support (CPR) certification within 90 days of hire.
