About the Role
Comunilife Inc. is seeking dedicated Security Guards for its Bronx Congregate location, El Borinquen Residence. In this role, you will be the first line of defense for the safety and well-being of both the program's staff and its residents. Your primary mission is to ensure a secure working environment for the team and a safe, supportive living space for the clients.
You will work harmoniously with program staff in accordance with Comunilife's core principles and guidelines. The position requires flexibility to cover nights and weekends as needed and reports directly to the Program Director.
Day in the Life
Your day involves vigilant monitoring of the front door to control access for clients, visitors, and staff. You will manage the sign-in and sign-out process, ensuring keys are properly distributed and returned, while verifying that no private program property leaves the facility. You will maintain detailed logs of all traffic and report any security violations to program staff or, when necessary, the NYPD.
A significant part of your role involves patrolling the building and outside courtyards—checking halls, stairs, and public bathrooms for safety hazards and loitering residents. You will enforce house rules by preventing the entry of contraband, such as alcoholic beverages, drugs, weapons, or unauthorized electronics, and follow strict procedures for securing and disposing of any confiscated items. Any unusual violations or safety concerns will be documented and reported to the Assistant Program Director.

Requirements
