About the Role

At F.D. Moon Middle School, we are dedicated to creating a flexible program and a class environment that fosters both learning and personal growth. As a Secondary Middle School Science Teacher, you will be the catalyst for establishing effective rapport with pupils, motivating them to develop the skills, attitudes, and knowledge necessary for a strong educational foundation. Your mission extends beyond the classroom walls; you will build meaningful relationships with parents and staff, ensuring a supportive community that adapts to each pupil's unique abilities.

In this role, you will bring the Oklahoma State Department of Education's course of study to life, teaching a diverse range of science disciplines including Earth Science, Life Science, and Physical Science. Your day involves translating lesson plans into engaging learning experiences, utilizing available time efficiently to provide individualized and small-group instruction. You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, orderly, and respectful climate where students feel valued, while actively participating in the OKCPS model for School Improvement.

Beyond instruction, you will serve as a key partner in student well-being, identifying needs and collaborating with professional staff to address health, attitude, and learning challenges. Whether supervising students during out-of-classroom activities like cafeteria duty or field trips, or communicating progress to families, your goal is to interact with pupils, staff, and parents in a positive and professional manner that upholds the dignity of every learner.
