Key Responsibilities
- check_circleDeliver engaging science instruction using diverse curriculum materials and educational software
- check_circleDevelop comprehensive daily lesson plans and classroom schedules aligned with state guidelines
- check_circleImplement behavioral standards and classroom management practices to maintain a safe learning environment
- check_circleAssess and track student progress through data collection to inform instructional interventions
- check_circleStay current with research-based educational practices to enhance instructional quality
- check_circleRespond to formal and informal evaluations to foster ongoing professional development
- check_circleParticipate in team meetings to address student needs and strengthen the educational support network
- check_circleCollaborate with special education staff to differentiate instruction and ensure student accommodations
- check_circleCommunicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and challenges
Requirements
- verifiedBachelor's degree or higher in education or related field
- verifiedIL state professional educator (PEL) credential
- verifiedCrisis management training certification
- verifiedHigh school level teaching experience
- verifiedScience subject area experience
- verifiedKnowledge of alternative education services
- verifiedProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and instructional technology
Nice to Have
Prior experience working with curriculum development, differentiation and instruction, preferably in an alternative, special education and/or behavioral health program setting. Prior experience and/or knowledge in alternative educational services and/or working with at-risk students. Prior experience and/or knowledge in working with students with individualized education plans (IEP's).
