The School LPN serves as a vital guardian of the physical health and well-being of the entire school community. Reporting directly to the Principal, this full-time role is dedicated to ensuring a safe, healthy, and supportive environment where students can thrive academically and socially. Your day-to-day impact involves assessing ill students, managing communicable disease control, and maintaining a safe campus environment. You will play a key part in creating and implementing Student Health Plans and Section 504 Individualized Assistance Plans in collaboration with the SAT team, ensuring every student receives the care they need to succeed.
Beyond clinical duties, the School LPN fosters a culture of respect and rapport. You will model warmth, active listening, and fairness in all interactions, acknowledging the diverse backgrounds of students and families. By maintaining open, two-way communication with parents and staff, you help cultivate a community where families are engaged partners in the learning process. You will also serve on the School Wellness Committee, contributing to district-wide initiatives that promote student health and safety.
Candidates selected for an interview will be contacted directly by the hiring team. The process typically includes a review of credentials, followed by an interview to discuss experience in pediatric nursing and school environments. Successful candidates must be eligible for licensure by the State Board of Nursing and possess a graduate degree from an accredited school of nursing.

Audubon Schools operates a network of public elementary institutions based in New Orleans, Louisiana, delivering specialized primary and secondary education. Established in 1981, the organization initially began as a Montessori school before securing an official designation as a French School through a historic agreement between the French Government and the State of Louisiana. The network currently includes the Audubon Uptown campus serving over 800 students in grades K-8 and the Audubon Gentilly campus, which accommodates students from grades K-7 with plans to expand capacity to 450 students in grades K-8 by 2024. Both locations provide unique programming not found in other public schools within the city, combining Montessori methodologies with authentic French language immersion.
The organization emphasizes a holistic educational approach that cultivates the whole child through individualized, hands-on learning and a comprehensive arts curriculum. In 2025, the network expanded its footprint to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with the opening of Audubon Baton Rouge to serve students in grades K-5. This new campus adopts the innovative academic model of the Gentilly location, prioritizing arts integration alongside Montessori-based academics and French language infusions. Governed by the Board of French and Montessori Education, Inc., Audubon Schools maintains a mission to foster a culturally rich and academically rigorous environment for New Orleans and surrounding communities.
