About the Role
As a Part-Time School Bus Driver in Rochester, MN, you will play a vital role in your community and the lives of students. You will start students' days with morning pickups and transport them safely back home in the afternoon. This role is perfect for retirees, stay-at-home parents, veterans, or anyone seeking a second career with a flexible schedule.
No prior experience is necessary to become a school bus driver. We provide expert training and guidance to help you become a safe and professional First Student driver. Your day will involve safely transporting students to and from school and activities, supervising boarding and unloading, and maintaining order on the bus. You will conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections, report mechanical issues, and communicate with parents and school staff. Additional hours for field trips and special events may be available.
Hiring Process
To join our team, you must be at least 21 years old and have held a valid driver's license for at least three years. We offer Commercial Learner's Permit (CLP) and Commercial Driver's License (CDL) training for qualified candidates. Please note that this position is subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee.
