We are seeking an experienced SAP ABAP Developer to join our team in a fully remote capacity. This role is pivotal for driving technical excellence within our production planning and supply chain solutions, specifically targeting the discrete manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between complex business requirements and robust technical execution, ensuring seamless system performance and scalability.
In this position, you will serve as a key technical advisor, interacting directly with management, end-client business process teams, and users to define system requirements. Your day-to-day will involve analyzing software needs to determine design feasibility and evaluating the interface between hardware and software. You will be responsible for designing and developing critical SAP RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms) using modern design and development platforms.
Beyond development, you will coordinate with the SAP Basis team regarding transports and provide strategic advice on system maintenance post go-live. A significant portion of your focus will be on the successful realization of the SAP cutover plan prior to launch, as well as advising on system upgrades, bug fixes, and support packages. You will also design architectural plans for third-party system integrations using APIs, IDocs, and other protocols, ensuring that solutions are scalable and adhere to object-oriented programming standards.
While this is a remote role, it includes a requirement for occasional onsite travel to Charlotte, NC, for project meetings. Travel is expected to be up to 5% of the time, typically occurring in 2-3 day blocks. You will receive at least three weeks' advance notice for any required travel, and all associated expenses will be reimbursed.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, race, religion, gender, or other protected characteristics.
