The Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) is seeking enthusiastic trainees for the High School to Highway (H2H) program, a one-year initiative designed for recent or soon-to-be high school and alternative school graduates. This program serves as a gateway to state government careers, offering hands-on experience in highway maintenance, construction, and the broader transportation sector.
Located within the Delivery & Operations Division's Region 3, District 7 Striping Crew in Roseburg, this role provides a unique opportunity to work outdoors as part of a dedicated team. Trainees will learn directly from mentors while contributing to the safety and reliability of Oregon's roadways for the traveling public.
As a trainee, you will be an active member of a maintenance crew responsible for repairing and maintaining roads, bridges, signs, and facilities. Your day-to-day activities will vary based on seasonal needs and operational demands, potentially including:
