About the Role
As an integral member of the YNHHS healthcare team, the Registered Professional Nurse (RN) upholds the system's mission, vision, and strategic initiatives to deliver the highest level of patient-centered care. This role operates within the legal and ethical framework of the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act, the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards, and the YNHHS Professional Practice Model.
The RN embodies leadership, collaboration, and effective communication to ensure quality outcomes. Working within a framework of "Achieving outcomes through Autonomy and Accountability," the role prioritizes Nursing Professional Governance, utilizing evidence and data to keep the patient and family at the center of care. The nurse establishes therapeutic relationships that integrate cultural and diversity awareness, respecting patient values, preferences, and needs throughout the holistic care process.
Hiring Process
Experienced OR RNs are encouraged to apply. All newly hired registered nurses must hold current BCLS certification or obtain it within one month of hire. The organization encourages all RNs to advance their careers through the SPIRE clinical advancement program.

Requirements
