Geisinger is a proud healthcare system dedicated to caring for patients, members, students, and communities. Our mission is driven by core values of Kindness, Excellence, Learning, Innovation, and Safety. We foster an atmosphere of collaboration, cooperation, and collegiality, believing that a diverse workforce with unique experiences makes our team stronger and better serves our wide-ranging community.
We are seeking a dedicated Inpatient Registered Nurse to join our team at Geisinger Community Medical Center (GCMC). This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality patient care within our Level 2 trauma center Emergency Department. The unit is a dynamic 60-bed environment featuring 2 trauma rooms, 3 triage rooms, and a dedicated Behavioral Health area. As a Level 2 trauma center, we manage complex cases including STEMI, stroke, heart attacks, and a large behavioral health population.
You will work within a robust team environment where you are never alone, supported by a 24/7 charge nurse, UDCs, techs, providers, and a dedicated pharmacist. The position involves the full nursing process: assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. You will address the physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual needs of patients and families throughout their continuum of care, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to formulate and adjust plans of care.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work under a Temporary Practice Permit until you take the NCLEX. You will participate in unit-based decision-making, support the Magnet mission, and engage in quality and safety education initiatives. The shift is evenings (11:00 AM – 11:30 PM), with every other weekend and holiday rotation.
To join the Geisinger family, eligible candidates can apply for this full-time position. For more information about Geisinger opportunities, please contact Rebecca Miszkiel at rmiszkiel@geisinger.edu.
