This position is exclusively for experienced Operating Room (OR) nurses. We are not considering new graduates or applicants new to the specialty at this time. As an experienced OR nurse, you will independently provide patient care using the nursing process while fulfilling leadership and teaching duties that support effective patient outcomes.
You will function as a vital member of the healthcare team, participating in continuous quality improvement activities and anticipating changes in patient conditions to ensure safe, timely interventions. Your day will involve assessing biophysical and psychosocial needs, developing individualized plans of care, and providing comprehensive education to patients and families. You will also demonstrate leadership by mentoring less experienced staff, precepting new hires, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to optimize care delivery.
Candidates must possess current licensure as a Registered Nurse in Maryland or a compact state, along with specific certifications required for the OR department (including ACLS). Successful applicants will be expected to complete all hospital-wide and department-specific competencies within the stipulated timelines.
