The Registered Nurse First Assistant (RNFA) is a specialized nursing role designed to extend the scope of intra-operative care. By combining advanced technical skills with clinical judgment, the RNFA works interdependently with surgeons to perform complex procedures that exceed the capabilities of a standard registered nurse.
In this capacity, you will provide direct patient care throughout the entire surgical journey—preoperatively, intra-operatively, and postoperatively. Your primary focus during surgery is to assist the surgeon in executing safe, optimal outcomes by managing critical tasks such as cauterizing, suturing, incising skin, handling medical devices, providing exposure, and ensuring hemostasis.
Work model: On-site
