This position serves as a Registered Nurse within the Medical Surgical North department at UCHealth Memorial Hospital North in Colorado Springs. The role provides direct patient care at a proficient level within a 24/7 acute care environment. You will utilize the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, aligning with the organization's policies, values, and mission.
In this fast-paced setting, you will plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans based on assessments to optimize outcomes and maximize resources. The role requires critical thinking and decisive judgment to work with minimal supervision. You will monitor, record, and communicate patient conditions to a multidisciplinary care team, collaborating across disciplines to coordinate transfers, discharges, and referrals. Additionally, you will evaluate learning needs to provide education to patients and families, effectively delegate care to ancillary personnel, and may precept student nurses and new hires.
This is an onsite role with a night shift schedule, working 72 hours per pay period (2 weeks). There is no hybrid or remote option available for this position.
