The Residential Driver is the frontline of our waste removal services, dedicated to safely, efficiently, and courteously serving our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for collecting solid waste and recyclables from curbside and backdoor locations, transporting them to post-collection facilities, and ensuring the highest standards of route quality. This position is vital to maintaining clean communities and operational efficiency across our network.
Your day begins with a thorough pre-trip safety inspection of your vehicle and equipment. You will operate residential, side-load, or rear-load trucks, utilizing hydraulic systems to compact waste while maneuvering through tight residential spaces. Throughout your route, you will interact with the public, maintaining a professional demeanor and identifying prohibited items to ensure safe disposal. You will also manage assigned helpers if applicable, coordinate with mechanics regarding vehicle maintenance, and maintain accurate records of services performed. The role requires adaptability to changing weather conditions and traffic patterns, often working outdoors in varying environments from extreme heat to cold.
