The Residence Manager / Direct Support Supervisor serves as the operational leader for assigned residential programs, ensuring the overall functioning and safety of the individuals we serve. This role is pivotal in upholding the Mission, Values, and Vision of ACHIEVE, fostering an environment where person-centered living and self-determination are at the forefront of daily operations.
In this position, you will bridge the gap between clinical oversight and direct support, guiding Assistant Residence Managers and Residential Aides to deliver high-quality care. You will be responsible for creating staff schedules, managing payroll activities, and conducting performance evaluations to ensure the team is equipped to support individuals in achieving their personal goals, from health and safety to employment and social relationships.
Your day involves a dynamic mix of administrative leadership and on-the-ground support. You will oversee the implementation of Individual Service Plans (ISP) and Habilitation Plans, ensuring all documentation meets strict regulatory standards set by OPWDD and other governing bodies. This includes participating in Life Plan meetings, conducting clinical reviews, and conferring regularly with case managers and guardians regarding the well-being of the individuals supported.
You will also serve on a 24-hour on-call rotation, maintaining coverage for all programs as needed. While your typical schedule runs Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, flexibility is required to accommodate evening, overnight, weekend, and holiday hours based on program needs. You may be assigned to different work sites and required to travel between programs, with mileage reimbursement provided for approved personal vehicle use.
A significant part of your role involves cultivating a positive, collaborative culture. You will encourage teamwork across all departments, parents, and community partners, while ensuring that all staff adhere to safety protocols, including universal precautions regarding communicable diseases. You will also lead by example in maintaining required certifications such as First Aid, CPR, and SCIP, ensuring your team remains compliant with state and federal mandates.
Candidates with an Associate degree and three years of experience in OPWDD or similar human services settings, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, are encouraged to apply. Please note that this role requires a valid driver's license and the physical ability to lift 50 pounds.
ACHIEVE is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and inclusion. We consider qualified applicants regardless of background, ensuring a supportive environment for all team members and the individuals we serve.
