This position functions independently and under the direction of a principal investigator to perform high-level, complex scientific research experiments. The role is designed for a problem solver who takes the initiative to prioritize tasks, ensuring the smooth and efficient conduct of several projects simultaneously. You will contribute to scientific literature, reports, journals, and presentations, while investigating, creating, and developing new methods and technologies for research advancement.
In this semi-autonomous capacity, you will develop proposals and study plans, coordinating institutional and external reviews. You will be responsible for supervising routine reports of laboratory studies, particularly as stipulated in material transfer agreements or corporate-sponsored research agreements, and distributing them to industry scientific counterparts and academic collaborators. Your day-to-day activities include reporting on work progress at weekly laboratory seminars, writing up experimental work for grant applications, book chapters, and journal publications, and preparing summaries of laboratory studies for meeting presentations. Additionally, you will calculate, transcribe, analyze, and prepare figures of data using advanced statistical techniques, while identifying, interpreting, and applying findings from scientific literature relevant to your projects.
