Dana-Farber Cancer Institute (DFCI), located in Boston and surrounding communities, is a leader in life-changing breakthroughs in cancer research and patient care. United in our mission of conquering cancer, HIV/AIDS, and related diseases, we strive to create an inclusive, diverse, and equitable environment. We provide compassionate and comprehensive care to patients of all backgrounds and design programs to promote public health, particularly among high-risk and underserved populations. Our work advances treatment, educates tomorrow's physician-researchers, and leverages partnerships with other Harvard Medical School-affiliated hospitals.
The Department of Data Science at DFCI seeks a candidate with a strong background in biostatistics, machine learning, and/or computational biology to collaborate with researchers at the Hale Family Center for Pancreatic Cancer Research. This position offers a unique opportunity to work alongside basic scientists, clinical and biomedical researchers at DFCI, as well as faculty across Harvard.
Based in the Department of Data Science at DFCI, the successful candidate will hold a Research Scientist track appointment in the Department of Biostatistics at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. This non-tenure track faculty position provides a salary comparable to tenure-track roles, independence to choose projects, grant submission support, and the opportunity to hire and supervise a research team. The role also permits seeking external and internal funding for independent projects.
The Department of Data Science offers an exceptional collaborative environment with experts in a wide range of areas, including clinical trials, cancer genetics, immunology, epigenetics, machine learning, statistical software development, Bayesian methods, and alignment algorithms. As an independent investigator or senior analyst, you will lead research projects, present results, prepare publications, and collaborate with external researchers.
At Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, we work every day to create an innovative, caring, and inclusive environment where every patient, family, and staff member feels they belong. We are committed to having faculty and staff who offer multifaceted experiences. Cancer knows no boundaries, and neither do we when it comes to hiring the most dedicated and compassionate professionals.
