The Economic Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City conducts innovative analysis and research on a variety of agricultural topics, including finance, trade, production, and regional markets. Our work provides critical support for monetary policy and industry engagement.
We are recruiting for a Research Associate with a focus on agricultural economics to be located in Omaha. This position is designed for someone passionate about agricultural research and considering a graduate degree in economics or a related field. The role offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical skills in data management, survey methodologies, and statistical analysis while gaining exposure to a broad range of economic research topics.
As a Research Associate, you will work alongside other economists on policy briefings, presentations for external engagements, and research projects. You will collect, analyze, and summarize agricultural economic data, preparing charts for presentations on agricultural and regional economic conditions. Additionally, you will oversee processes associated with collecting data through quarterly surveys of agricultural credit and lending conditions, and assist in developing and organizing agricultural conferences, industry meetings, and roundtables.
This is a two-year position with the opportunity to extend, if applicable, starting in summer 2026. The role is full-time and on-site, with 5 days per month of remote work flexibility.
