About the Role
As a Plan Reviewer, you will play a critical role in ensuring compliance with the Florida Building Code and local regulations. You will serve as the bridge between clients, contractors, and local authorities, facilitating efficient permitting and construction processes. This position requires a deep understanding of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems to provide clear feedback and resolve issues quickly. You will be responsible for maintaining the integrity of our same-day or next-day service commitments while managing multiple projects with a high degree of attention to detail.
Work Environment
This is a remote position, allowing you to contribute to our expanding Florida presence from your home office while collaborating with our St. Petersburg team and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
- check_circleConduct detailed reviews of architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing plans for compliance
- check_circleProvide clear feedback to clients regarding required corrections or clarifications
- check_circleEnsure plan reviews are completed within specified timeframes to meet service commitments
- check_circleCommunicate effectively with contractors, design professionals, and permitting officials
- check_circleStay up-to-date with changes in building codes and regulations and apply them to reviews
- check_circleMaintain accurate records of reviews, correspondence, and project progress
- check_circleCollaborate with the inspection team to ensure a seamless process from plan review to project completion
Requirements
- verified5 years of experience in building code plan review or related field
- verifiedCertification as a Plans Examiner or ability to obtain within six months
- verifiedStrong knowledge of Florida Building Code
- verifiedProficiency in reading construction documents
- verifiedProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and permitting software
Nice to Have
Certification as a Plans Examiner (ICC or Florida Board of Building Code Administrators). Proficiency in permitting software.
