As a Respiratory Therapist II, you will report to the Therapy Manager and play a critical role in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. This position is designed for a professional with extensive patient assessment skills who can perform at a high level during emergency situations. You will provide a variety of respiratory therapy modalities, including mechanical ventilation, respiratory treatments, and the administration of oxygen and specialty gases.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include collecting and analyzing sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases. You will also measure lung capacity to assess impaired function and administer treatments prescribed by physicians for patients with breathing abnormalities. In this role, you will assume primary responsibility for respiratory care treatments and provide oversight for respiratory therapy technicians.
We are looking for candidates with a minimum of two years of experience and an AAS in Respiratory Care from an AMA-approved School of Respiratory Therapy. Successful applicants must hold a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) and be licensed by the Board of Medical Examiners of South Carolina. Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or American Red Cross BLS for Healthcare Providers certification is also required.
