The Respiratory Therapist II serves as a key clinical partner within the Pulmonary Function Testing Lab, reporting directly to the Therapy Manager. This role is designed for a high-performing professional who provides a wide array of respiratory therapy modalities to patients suffering from cardio-pulmonary dysfunction. From managing mechanical ventilation to administering specialized treatments and oxygen therapy, the Therapist II operates at an advanced level, utilizing extensive patient assessment skills to navigate complex emergency situations with confidence.
In this position, you will assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. Your daily responsibilities include collecting and analyzing sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine critical gas levels, as well as measuring lung capacity to identify impaired function. Beyond direct patient care, you will administer physician-prescribed treatments for breathing abnormalities and assume primary responsibility for respiratory care protocols, including the oversight of respiratory therapy technicians.
