As a Respiratory Therapist II, you will report to the Therapy Manager and serve as a vital member of the Pulmonary Function Testing Lab team. This role is designed for a professional with extensive patient assessment skills who can perform at a high level during emergency situations. You will provide a variety of respiratory therapy modalities to patients with cardio-pulmonary dysfunction, including mechanical ventilation, respiratory treatments, and the administration of oxygen and specialty gases.
Your day-to-day responsibilities involve assisting in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of patients with pulmonary disorders. You will collect and analyze sputum, blood, and breath specimens to determine levels of oxygen, carbon dioxide, and other gases, while also measuring lung capacity to identify impaired function. In addition to administering physician-prescribed treatments for breathing abnormalities, you will assume primary responsibility for respiratory care treatments and oversee respiratory therapy technicians.
