About the Role

The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse is a vital member of the Patient Care Services Team. This role goes beyond basic care; it encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision. As an RN, you will manage and provide patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, applying independent judgment and collaborating with all team members, including ancillary and support services.

You will establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other healthcare providers, delegating, assessing, providing, and evaluating patient care. The role involves monitoring patient progress, preparing patients for discharge, and reporting directly to senior unit management while participating in shared decision-making activities.

About the Facility

The Children's Hospital of Michigan is an international leader in pediatric and adolescent medicine. Our surgical services include general, thoracic, reconstructive, and cardiovascular procedures. We utilize imaging technology designed specifically for children, offering advanced diagnostic services such as Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and MRI.

Our Emergency Department is a verified Level 1 Pediatric Trauma Center and a dedicated pediatric burn center. Experts in pediatric critical care, rehabilitation, and neonatal and perinatal medicine provide care for thousands of children annually across the Children's Hospital of Michigan, Children's Hospital of Michigan - Troy, and six ambulatory sites.
