Our Med/Surg Observation Unit is a fast-paced, 24-bed telemetry and medical-surgical environment. We care for patients presenting with a variety of acute conditions, including chest pain, syncope, congestive heart failure, pneumonia, and diabetes. Our care model relies on a collaborative team approach, featuring a charge nurse, unit assistants, and robust support from respiratory, lab, and case management departments. We pride ourselves on delivering professional and compassionate care to every patient.
Join our amazing Med/Surg Observation Unit and take the next step in your nursing journey. In this role, you will manage a patient ratio of 4-6, adjusting based on acuity, while systematically assessing and reassessing the healthcare needs of individuals across specific age groups and conditions. You will analyze these assessments to determine nursing diagnoses and expected outcomes, working closely with patients, families, and other healthcare providers. Your practice will be guided by current evidence-based standards, regulations, and policy as you implement interventions to achieve care goals. Additionally, you will evaluate patient outcomes using critical thinking to recognize problems and reach sound conclusions. As a key member of the team, you will serve as a department leader alongside the Nurse Manager and promote effective bedside handoffs during shift changes.
