The Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at UVMMC is a 20-bed Level III unit and a 9-bed Level II Transition Unit dedicated to providing care for the most critical infants born within our health system. Our work emphasizes a collaborative, collegial team approach, supported by thorough orientation and strong mentorship programs.
After two years of service, NICU RNs have the opportunity to train as part of a Health Net Transfer Team. This role involves transporting infants requiring NICU care throughout Vermont and upstate New York.
