8W is a 24-bed inpatient mixed General Surgery and Neuroscience unit located in the West wing on the 8th floor of the main hospital. The floor manages a diverse population of adult and geriatric patients, featuring private rooms throughout. While the unit supports a variety of general surgery and medical diagnoses, it maintains a specialized focus on neuroscience care, including stroke patients, general neurology cases, neurosurgical patients, and those supported by the Comprehensive Spine Center program.
This unique mix of patient populations offers Registered Nurses the opportunity to gain broad experience in general surgery and medicine while simultaneously developing expertise in the specialized needs of neuroscience patients, ranging from strokes and brain tumors to spine surgeries.
As a Registered Nurse II, you will provide individualized, goal-directed patient care to families and patients at a competent level. Utilizing the principles and practices of the nursing process, you will deliver safe and effective care and collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to achieve desired clinical results. Working under general supervision, you will be part of a team of energetic and enthusiastic individuals dedicated to high-quality patient outcomes.
The role involves managing a rotating schedule of 36 hours per week, consisting of 12-hour shifts that include weekends. You will work in a dynamic environment requiring adaptability to various patient needs and physical demands.
