To be part of our organization, every employee should understand and share in the YNHHS Vision, support our Mission, and live our Values. These values—integrity, patient-centered care, respect, accountability, and compassion—must guide what we do, as individuals and professionals, every day.
As a Registered Nurse, you will assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care on a specialized nursing unit according to unit policies and procedures. You will provide supervision of non-RN personnel and, when assuming the charge role, delegate and supervise unit activities. This role requires the ability to adapt to different nursing units based on staff and patient distribution while maintaining a high level of service.
We offer opportunities within three distinct, high-acuity environments:
This fast-paced, 14-bed critical care unit cares for adult patients with complex cardiac and medical diagnoses, including myocardial infarction, cardiogenic shock, unstable arrhythmias, and heart failure. Our staff is trained in advanced heart failure management, including short- and long-term mechanical circulatory support (such as intra-aortic balloon pumps, Impella catheters, and LVADs), as well as evaluation for advanced therapies and transplantation.
This 18-bed cardiac surgery unit specializes in care for complex post-operative patients, including CABG, valve replacements, aortic dissection repairs, heart transplants, and LVAD implantations. Notably, this is the only unit in the YNHH health system that cares for patients requiring ECMO (both VV and VA). Nurses are trained on devices based on their experience, skill progression, and critical thinking abilities.
This 14-bed hybrid unit consists of 8 ICU beds and 6 stepdown beds. We specialize in caring for patients post-complex vascular surgery, such as aortic repairs, and post-cardiac surgery patients like those recovering from CABG and valve replacements in the ICU. The stepdown beds accommodate patients with a variety of complex heart and vascular diagnoses.
