As a Registered Nurse, you will serve as a vital link in our hospital-wide care continuum, coordinating total patient care and education from admission to discharge. Under the general supervision of the Chief Nursing Officer, Associate Chief Nursing Officer, and Nurse Manager, you will function independently across diverse clinical environments, including the ICU, CVSU, Emergency Department, medical-surgical floors, and telemetry units. Assignments are dynamic, rotating based on current staffing needs and facility requirements.
This role thrives on interdisciplinary teamwork. You will collaborate frequently with the CNO, ACNO, Nurse Manager, physicians, administrators, and peers to solve complex patient care problems. Success in this position requires the ability to relate professionally and non-defensively with staff, physicians, administration, patients, and visitors. You will also assist in promoting seamless teamwork between hospital staff, home health providers, outpatient clinics, and ancillary departments.
You are expected to function within the scope of all approved policies, procedures, and regulations. Key responsibilities include documenting total care provided, maintaining patient charts per policy, and ensuring accurate, timely entry of patient data, orders, and charges into the computer system.
To succeed in this position, you must pass a pharmacology test. Additionally, attendance at yearly mandatory and assigned Healthstream education sessions is nonnegotiable and is the employee's responsibility to arrange. You are also responsible for maintaining all necessary certifications and licensure requirements on time.
The role requires flexibility, with rotations between weekends and holidays determined by the Nurse Manager to meet the facility's operational needs.
