Regional Truck Driver - Flatbed

About the Role

Ryder is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team in Salem, OR. As a Company Driver, you will operate a day cab tractor with 42' and 48' flatbed trailers, delivering solo to Oregon, Washington, and the northern tip of California. The role involves handling freight that requires touching, strapping, and unstrapping. You will have access to trailer-mounted forklifts, and Ryder provides comprehensive training on all equipment needed to be successful. Trucks are 36 months or newer and include 24/7 roadside maintenance, with fueling available at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide.

Drivers are treated as the Captain of their vehicle, empowered to make safety decisions with job protection. The schedule runs Monday through Friday, starting at 5:00 AM, with an average of 40–50 hours per week. You can expect to be out 1–2 nights per week, earning a per diem of $36.05 per night.

The hiring process includes passing a Ryder drug test, background and motor vehicle check (including verification of alcohol/drug history from previous employers for the last 3 years), a DOT physical, and a Ryder road test. Some positions may require additional screening, such as employment/education verification or specific customer badging requirements.
