Ryder is seeking a Class A CDL Truck Driver to join our team in Pelham, Alabama. This position offers a driving career built on transparency, where you can feel confident about your pay, routes, and schedule. As a Company Driver, you will be part of a community of proud men and women in logistics, including Military Reservists and Veterans.
You will primarily deliver solo, spending 80% of your time in the Pelham area with 20% traveling. Your schedule typically runs Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays during peak seasons. You will dispatch between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM, leaving on Sundays when traveling away from home.
You will operate a 36-month or newer Day Cab tractor with a Flatbed trailer. While experience with mounted forklifts and load securement (strapping brick) is highly preferred, Ryder provides paid training for these specific tasks. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, maintaining accurate records and logs, and detecting safety hazards. You also have the autonomy to make safety decisions, as drivers are considered the "Captain" of their vehicle.
Ryder is committed to supporting your career and well-being from day one. We provide trucks equipped with 24/7 roadside maintenance and fuel up at over 800 maintenance facilities nationwide. We are upfront about our compensation structure, including weekly pay, trip pay, per diem, and mileage reimbursement. Additionally, we offer a referral bonus program where you can get paid for hiring other great drivers.
