About the Role

Ryder is hiring a Class A CDL Truck Driver in Pelham, Alabama, offering a driving career you can feel good about. This position focuses on delivering flatbed freight, primarily solo within the Pelham area with occasional travel. The role is designed for drivers who want to be the "Captain" of their truck, making safety decisions while enjoying a schedule that is mostly Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays during peak times.

The Day-to-Day

You will operate a 36-month or newer day cab tractor with a flatbed trailer. While experience with mounted forklifts and load securement strapping for brick is highly preferred, Ryder provides paid training for those who need it. Trucks are maintained at over 800 facilities nationwide with 24/7 roadside maintenance, and drivers fuel up at these locations. You will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal and state laws, maintaining accurate records and logs, and detecting safety hazards.
