The Red Cell Analyst at the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (Fort Belvoir, VA) serves as a critical component of the DoD Red Team operations. This role exists to challenge assumptions and identify vulnerabilities by rigorously characterizing adversaries and simulating their potential courses of action. The Analyst acts as a bridge between raw intelligence and strategic decision-making, ensuring that customer personnel, equipment, and infrastructure are protected against evolving threats.
In this position, you will not only gather and analyze all-source information but also synthesize complex findings into actionable intelligence. Your work directly supports vulnerability identification, risk analysis, and the development of mitigation strategies. You will collaborate closely with DoD Red Team partners to conduct field assessments from an adversary's perspective, ensuring that defense plans are robust against real-world scenarios.
Your day involves a dynamic mix of research, analysis, and communication. You will research the structure, ideology, and capabilities of adversarial organizations using both classified and unclassified sources to build comprehensive threat characterizations. A significant portion of your time is dedicated to developing assessment strategies and collection plans to determine adversary courses of action.
You will analyze systems to identify critical assets and essential functions, then fuse these findings with vulnerability data to understand their impact on national and military missions. The role requires frequent synthesis of these insights into high-level deliverables, including senior leader briefs, white papers, after-action reviews, and final reports. You will facilitate timely information flow between partners and prepare detailed activity reports to convey assessment findings to stakeholders.
Candidates must possess an active TS/SCI clearance to be considered for this position. The application process begins with submitting a resume that highlights relevant experience in intelligence analysis, specifically within areas such as all-source analysis, cyber, or threat/target analysis. Selected candidates will undergo a vetting process commensurate with the security clearance requirements before moving forward in the selection pipeline.
