About the Role
The Ready-Mix Driver is the vital link between our batch plants and construction job sites, responsible for transporting freshly mixed concrete safely and efficiently. This role goes beyond simply driving; it requires making normal operating adjustments to the equipment and material to ensure the concrete arrives in optimal condition. We are looking for a candidate with a positive attitude, a strong work ethic, and excellent customer service skills to represent CalPortland on the road.

Key Responsibilities

- check_circleDeliver ready-mix concrete to various job sites
- check_circleOperate a radio to communicate with company personnel
- check_circleAttend safety meetings as scheduled by management
- check_circleOperate a multi-axle mixer truck safely while obeying traffic laws
- check_circleClean and wash vehicle to remove concrete buildup from exterior parts
- check_circleReport all incidents and injuries to management immediately
Requirements
- verifiedHigh School Diploma/GED
- verifiedCurrent Commercial Class A or B driver's license with airbrakes and tank endorsement
- verifiedSafe driving record (no serious moving violations within past 36 months; no more than two moving violations within past 24 months)
- verifiedCurrent Department of Transportation (DOT) Medical Certificate
- verifiedAbility to read a map and understand verbal and GPS driving route instructions
- verifiedFamiliarity with slumps
- verified2+ years of commercial driving experience (preferred)
- verifiedExperience in ready-mix or heavy construction industries (preferred)
