This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of railcar switching and locomotive movements within the facility. The role serves as a critical link in logistics, ensuring railcars are moved in, out, and around the site with precision. Strong communication skills are essential to coordinate these operations safely and effectively.
While experience in railyard operations or chemical plant loading is preferred, it is not required for candidates who demonstrate a commitment to safety and operational efficiency. The role involves a full-time, rotating 12-hour shift schedule designed to maintain continuous facility operations.
This role requires working outdoors in various environmental conditions, which may include extreme heat or cold. Employees must be comfortable working at heights and near water while adhering to strict OSHA safety standards. The position demands the ability to wear all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) without restriction and pass associated medical examinations.
Candidates must currently possess a valid, unexpired TWIC card and a driver's license. The hiring process includes a drug screen, physical examination, and background check. Applicants should be 18 years or older, legally able to work in the U.S., and have a stable work history with good references from past employers.
