The Limited Medical Radiology Tech (LMRT) serves as a vital partner to the urgent care clinical staff at Emory in Knoxville, TN. This part-time evening position is designed to accommodate and support the provision of patient care by performing radiologic procedures and clinician orders in a timely and accurate manner.
In this role, you will be more than just a radiology technician; you will act as a patient advocate and a member of a cross-functional team. Your day will involve translating provider orders into appropriate x-ray procedures, preparing and positioning patients for examinations, and assisting clinicians where needed. You will also coordinate a variety of patient care activities, including taking vital signs, assisting with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and performing laboratory testing.
You will work directly under the supervision of a provider or registered nurse to ensure uncompromising service. The role requires you to maintain a welcoming environment, independently problem-solve when patients are unable to communicate, and ensure the confidentiality of patient information. You will also support Patient Service Representatives by performing registration processes and ensuring exam rooms are clean, orderly, and fully stocked with necessary supplies.
