JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract (J-Tech II). Our mission is to develop and maintain realistic, integrated test and training environments, preparing the nation's war-fighting aircraft, weapons systems, and aircrews for today's missions and tomorrow's global challenges.
As a Field Engineer IV, you will serve as a senior technical contributor under the general supervision of a senior-level engineer. This role is critical to the installation, operations, testing, and maintenance of complex electronic equipment and systems across diverse environments. You will engage in fundamental field engineering tasks that range from conducting research to assist higher-level engineers in obtaining technical data, to performing highly technical tasks involving tolerance studies and design calculations.
Your day-to-day responsibilities include planning and executing successive engineering steps to resolve technical problems using standard practices. You will support projects of varying scopes, generating sections of design specifications for complex initiatives or complete specifications for less complex ones. Utilizing computer-assisted test methods, you will conduct laboratory investigations on equipment and systems, prepare technical reports and correspondence, and deliver technical presentations during in-process design and review meetings.
The role requires deep engagement with a wide array of technologies, including HF/UHF/VHF ground-to-air radio communications, switches, routers, cable television systems, P25 Land Mobile Radio Systems, Air Traffic Control operations centers, navigation ground systems (ILS/VOR/TACANS), and meteorological/weather systems. Success in this position demands excellent technical skills and a willingness to perform field maintenance duties in support of federal government contracts.
This position is part of a tasking in support of a Federal Government Contract, which requires U.S. citizenship. Candidates may need to be eligible for a government security clearance, a state-issued driver's license, or other specific licenses and certifications. The inability to obtain and maintain these requirements may affect employment eligibility.

Each employee is expected to read, understand, and implement the general and specific operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements of all plans, procedures, and policies pertaining to their job. We value the mental alertness, communication, and analytical skills necessary to navigate the unique challenges of supporting national defense infrastructure.
