As a Psychology Associate 2 at the Arizona State Hospital, you will play a vital role in the mental health treatment of residents. This position involves performing individual and group therapy, participating in resident treatment groups, and conducting risk assessments and emergency interventions. You will be responsible for the full spectrum of clinical documentation, including screening, interviewing, needs assessment, and the development of comprehensive treatment plans with specific goals and objectives.
Your day-to-day work includes designing, implementing, and evaluating psychological programs, writing progress notes, and reviewing evaluation reports to recommend changes in resident placement. You will also collaborate with a multidisciplinary team through committee meetings and staffing sessions, and engage in professional development activities, including in-service training for program staff. Additionally, you may conduct research in areas such as mental health, sex offender treatment, and recidivism, presenting case study reviews to the psychology staff and working with outside agencies on joint treatment efforts.
