About the Role
The PSM Coordinator serves as the central steward for the facility's Process Safety Management (PSM) program, ensuring strict adherence to JBS Tolleson's corporate Ammonia Refrigeration Management standards. This role is critical for maintaining a safe operating environment within the manufacturing plant, bridging the gap between corporate safety directives and on-the-ground execution across all shifts.
In this position, you will lead the organization and implementation of the PSM program, coordinating complex workflows such as Management of Change (MOC), Process Hazard Analyses (PHA), and Mechanical Integrity inspections. The role involves a dynamic day-to-day rhythm of scheduling quarterly updates with plant engineers and affected employees, tracking compliance audit exceptions to closure, and ensuring that all Standard Operating Procedures for ammonia equipment remain current and certified. You will also play a key leadership role in facilitating continuous improvement by coordinating ammonia best practices and maintaining alignment with the broader JBS Tolleson PSM network.
Beyond administrative oversight, the coordinator actively supports the facility Safety team in managing the Hot Work Program and Emergency Action Plan. A significant portion of the role is dedicated to fostering a culture of safety through rigorous training documentation for Refrigeration Operators and ensuring that all ammonia projects adhere to recognized engineering practices, specifically those outlined by the International Institute of Ammonia Refrigeration (IIAR).
Work Environment
This position operates within a manufacturing plant environment characterized by heavy machinery and equipment. The role requires working 1st shift hours, with occasional overtime and weekends as needed. While the schedule is primarily fixed, there is openness to discussing flexibility. The physical demands of the role include traversing the workplace, accessing high and low objects, and occasionally exerting significant force to move heavy objects, reflecting the hands-on nature of supporting plant operations.

Requirements

Nice to Have
AutoCAD experience. A minimum of two years working experience with ammonia refrigeration systems and associated PSM requirements. Working and technical knowledge of refrigeration and maintenance systems, equipment installation/startups and plant utility equipment. Experience working with vendors and contractors.
